Oxford Science Studies (OXSS) is a trading name of Oxford International School Ltd, Registered Company Number 10519759. Hereafter OXSS is synonymous with Oxford International School Ltd.

I am writing to set out the terms upon which OXSS will engage your services.

1. THE SERVICES

It is agreed that you are engaged to provide tutoring services for OXSS. These services include written reports for all students you have taught.

The hours you are required to provide are to be agreed in advance with OXSS (usually through the Operations and Course Director) according to your availability. If you subsequently need to change the hours, such changes must be agreed in advance with OXSS.

2. FEES

We have agreed that the rate for your services will be as follows:

Individual tuition: £31.35 per hour
Group tuition: £31.35 per hour

Shifts cancelled by OXSS with less than 24 hours notice will be paid in full. In this case OXSS reserves the right to offer alternative work for which you are suitably qualified. No payment is made for shifts cancelled with more than 24 hours notice.

3. PAYMENT

You will be paid following the completion of a course after submission of all reports and an invoice.

4. STATUS AND TAXATION

It is agreed that you are engaged on a self-employed basis. It is not the intention of either party to this Agreement to create an employment relationship. Your fees will be payable gross, without deduction in respect of income or National Insurance contribution and you are solely responsible for the paying any income tax due and for National Insurance contributions.

As a self-employed person, the following terms apply:

You may hire someone else to provide the tuition or engage assistants at your own expense, by prior agreement with OXSS. All personnel that you employ in this capacity must be approved and cleared in advance by OXSS.
You must provide the main items of equipment and resources that you require.
You can decide when to provide the tutoring services (by prior agreement with OXSS).
You are free to work for any other client.

5. TERMINATION OF CONTRACT

Either party may terminate the contract by giving at least 4 week’s written notice to the other.

Please indicate your acceptance of these terms by signing and returning this letter to me. An additional copy is enclosed for your records.
